Alienware Command Center w/ Windows 10
So after having a disaster trying to upgrade from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro I decided that the only safe way to install windows 10 on the Alienware 17 system is to do a clean install.
As for AWCC, this is a total failure.. This app hasn't been updated in quite a long time and I tried several times and ways to get it working but it will not run and is not supported under W10.
With as outdated as this application is, I'm wondering if Dell is going to put any effort into fixing it because as of now those of us that are enjoying the update to W10 are unable to access any of the features in AWCC and it doesn't matter whether you do an upgrade or a clean install, it will not work in either case..
How about some answers and rolling out updates to AWCC or at least telling us all that with Windows 10 we're all screwed now..

Hi RDANDREWS
There must be something wrong with your Windows 10 installation, the "MS Redistributables" or a different problem. On my system ( Alienware 18 with similar configuration ) the command center runs like expected.
Check, if all 3rd-party software runs smothly and install the command center again (as admin) - this might be source for your problems, although msi typically calls directly for elevated rights).
The only problem I had, driver related, was with the RealTec audio driver ... but that is a discussion for an other place.
There is surely room for optimisation with the command center, especially OS Integration wise, but it is continuously updated ( as far as I know last version Dez 2014). Eventually, try downloading and installing a newer version from the dell website, even if it is not explicitly offered for your PC Setup.
If you have no luck, you just have to give Dell a little time to react. The Alienware program is still quite strong with Dell, so there is a good chance it will be solved soon.

I had this problem too. You need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 first, then re-run the Alienware Command Center installation.

Indeed, all 3rd-party requirements should be checked, although Windows directly recognised the missing .Net elements on my system and opened a download-and-install dialogue. Anyway, having run in to such problems several times myself (mostly with DirectX and old games). I would suggest to install .Net 2.0 , 2.1 , 3.0 , 3.5 and 4.0 all together. Windows recognises other versions and only adds missing files. So you have full backward-compatibility! ^^ .
If you only have problem with the touchpad settings of the command center, then that is a driver issue. Just install latest Synaptics driver and use these settings. It also adds a lot of features.
Sometimes, also the Dell-Installer (and Extractor) is the problem. Extract with WinRAR or 7z and manually call the msi installer.
