Another Latitude versus Precision question.
Looking at a Latitude D610 or a Precision M20.
Need a reasonably portable, reasonable powerful machine with 3D capability for playing some older games occasionaly. Otherwise will be my main machine used for web surfing, email, music collection, and some quite heavy number crunching, all running simultaneously.
Want a reasonably good battery life. (I like the Drive bay second battery option for this)
I have great eyesight (for now), and like to fit lots on my screen, so SXGA+ on 14 inch is perfect (can't find a 13inch with specs this powerful, so 14 inch is a compromise).
How does one choose between a D610 and an M20. They seem identical apart from the Graphics Adapters. Does it all come down to RADEON X300 versus ATI Mobility FireGL V3100 64MB? Can't find a lot of info to compare these two...
All things equal I would go for Battery Life, Size and weight. Oh, and if one has better analog sound quality, I would be happier. My friends back home say my voice chat transmissions sound like a chainsaw is in the background on my Inspiron 9100.....
Or there is a newly released NEC here in Japan with almost identical specs, smaller and lighter, with RADEON Xpress 200M.. although much more expensive, and no English Operating system option, which is a headache.. I can read Japanese a bit, but it's a hassle!
Thanks
Scott
