Hi,

Have you tried running the Diags ? I would also take out the modem and then try to reload the drivers. I have seen more audio problems caused by the modem than the audio card ( MBD ) in your model.

Howdy

Varify that the 'Windows Audio' service has started, and perhaps set it to Automatic rather than Manual or Disabled.

It seems that possibly XPSP2 or some 2k patch causes this service to not start up properly on certain machines (Could be because of the Sigma Tel Audio)?

Sorry that this is a little vague - I have not had time to test these out.
