I had the same problem. I updated audio driver, BIOS, chipset driver, reinstalled OS still no answer. I run audio test from support site but I can not let them know that I can nor play audio, because I can not choose mic and speaker out from the menu in the program, so I can not push on FAIL button. I made few support tickets, I spoke with an agent and still I have NO sound. my touchpad is not working too. You may speak easily to update audio driver, but why the audio driver gets messy?
I saw in controll panel NO audio device, I have audio services running, so what could be the problem? dead mainboard? The extended tests showed me NO ERROR, still no sound. Without an error code DELL SUPPORT will not help me. So what may I do? just reinstall the audio drivers? I tried too many times...
I tried to reinstall audio driver, chipset driver, I did a BIOS update, reinstall OS, run extended tests, and I have no Sound for 3 months. I contacted dell support, but without an error code they could not help me.
My touchpad is not working too.
My video card K1100 loses the settings, I set up some nView settings, but every week they go away. They may hold some days, but they reset in 3-4 days.

Hello. If you need additional help, please reply back with the full model name of the laptop, and say which operating system is on it.
