'Base System Device' driver

Hello,

I recently installed Windows 7 on my studio 1435. All the drivers were installed correctly but the 'Base System Device' driver couldn't be installed. I tried the 'Search Automatically for the updated driver software' option but no driver could be found. where can I find the 'Base System Device' driver?

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU

OS:  64 bit

Thanks to those that responded.. The device driver was one of the two RICOH chipset drivers.  I loaded both and after install, the ! was gone !!

The key is to load ALL the chipset drivers for your model even if you don't think you have that feature.  WHo knew there was a RICOH (a printer company) chip on the MB that needed a driver.

You should Install Dell Drivers in a Right order which is given by Dell.As installing drivers out of order will cause some devices not to run properly.

Hi Bill,

Hope this helps. The driver helped me with the "base system device" issue. This was for the Dell E6500. I don't know if it's the same version that applies to the E4300.

Many of the former links are down due to a Drivers and Downloads upgrade.

What is the model of your system e.g. Inspiron 6400 and Windows 7 64 bit?

The link u mentioned says that driver details are currently unavailable. How do I get the base device drivers?

Installing all the chipset drivers worked. the yellow exclamation mark is gone. thanks everyone. :)
