Battery light

I just received my M1210 from the Outlet and the battery indicator light on the console does not work. It doesn't light at all; whether plugged in or running on battery. Anyone have any ideas other than sending it back. No I didn't purchase in-home service.

i have a xps m1710 and i have to press the battery icon on the battery itself and it lights up for about 2 seconds before it goes away so i suggest you try pressing the battery icon on your battery and see if that works.
