Battery replacement
Is there a difference between GK479 batteries?
I am looking to replace my GK479 KR-0DY375.
Is there a reason why I shouldn't replace it with a used GK479 KR-0NR218 or a GK479 KR-0UW284?

Why not get a brand-new exact replacement?

This is a user to user forum, not Dell Support. No one here knows part numbers. Post your model computer and some user will help. Or you can do it yourself by searching Support for Battery for Your Model.
You should not even be considering buying a used battery. Dell computers require genuine Dell replacement batteries and they are brand new.

I wasn't going to replace with a non Dell battery. I stated that I was going to buy a used battery, that implies without even knowing the model/serial numbers that I am going to buy a genuine Dell battery. Dell No longer sells batteries for my laptop, therefore I have to buy a used genuine Dell battery. Your reply offered no help whatsoever, therefore wasted your time and mine as well.

Thank you for the link. I would love to buy a new battery, but I cannot afford it right now. But your link did provide the info I was looking for. So thanks again.
