Battery Return

Attempted to mail my battery via the US Post Office and they refused to accept the battery citing guidance received that they are not to accept the batteries.  Has anyone else ran into this problem or is it just in the Southeast US region?

Dell should provide you a shipping box, label and return authorization when you receive the replacement battery.

Probably not, but it's worth calling to find out.

I have a question:  My Inspiron 600m's battery died about 2 months ago and I bought a new one.  After hearing about the battery recall I checked my old battery and verified on the website that it indeed was one that would need replacing.  Can I get a refund for the new one I bought?

Not this time.  The address is:

Postage Due Unit

US Postal Service

Etc.

Mailed under Permit No 2 and should have been delivered to Lebanon, TN.

Dell provided the box and prepaid label.  That is what alerted the Postal Clerk.

Are you sure it was US Mail? Dell usually uses UPS or DHL as a carrier.

The recall has nothing to do with the battery dying.  So, Dell will replace your old battery, but you won't get a refund on the purchase.  I suggest you sell your replacement battery on eBay if you don't need it.
