When moving/deleting/resizing the partitions on the HDD you have messed up the MBR (Master boot record) or in removing the W2K OS along with moving/deleting/resizing the partitions you have lost the boot loader so the BIOS has NO idea where on the HDD to look for the OS. You will need to reinstall Win98 over the top of the present install. This may work or it may not.
No guarantees, but put in your W98 Boot disk and at the A:Prompt, type and enter SYS C: Then go to Fdisk Options and set your C: partition Active. Then try booting from the HD again.

Thanks everyone. I loaded a generic MBR using System Commander's utility and everything
works OK now.
