On the left side of this page is a section that says " Drivers and Downloads ". Go there, ebnter your service tag, then select your OS, then select the BIOS section and download the updated BIOS.

 

Now that being said I would read the Dell BIOS FAQ sheet as there is a warning about an improper BIOS Flash can render the system unusable. (Read this as mother board will need to be replaced).

IMO if you cannot afford a Motherboard replacement, and you are not having problems it isn't worth the risk involved.

lemme kno the operating system, if its Vista, you have to Download and save the file on the system desktop, then once its saved, right click that file and select Run as admin. then install it, allow it some time for installation as it takes some time to show up. DO not interrupt the procedure of installation.

You can also disable user account if you get an error.Open up Control Panel, and type in user account into the search box.

You'll see the link for "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off". Click it.

Uncheck the box, and reboot your computer. You should be done with obnoxious prompts!

On a Vista machine when trying to install the bios you might face challenges, its noticed that by right clicking the bios installation file and running it as adminstrator just a blank DOS window might pop up and you might not be able to flash bios. On these cases disable UAC and then flash the bios by running as administrator. Ensure that you enable UAC after bios flash.

will be a considerable delay of over 3 minutes when flashing bios. : During the flash do not turn off the machine, as this will result in MB failure. Probable delay is because flash is doing a quality job.
