blinking light (power light?)

On my inspiron 4100 the bottom light in the 3 light display is blinking three ambers and then green repeatedly. Is this some kind of trouble code? My battery shows it is 100%. I just had a problem getting it to come out of sleep mode and had to restart in safe  mode and use system restore. Any info would be helpful.

Well, I thought it might be a battery problem too but I removed the battery and pressed the test light and all three of it's led's blinked green. As I write this, I am running off battery power and it seems to be dropping in charge about the same as always.  It only lasts about 15-20  minutes. It must be the weakest of the lineup. So, any other thoughts out there? Is there a list of codes for the blinking light? It is a steady 3 ambers and one green repeatedly. Thanks, Bill

I have Inspiron 3800 that I run as a dev server box. It died the other day.

When I tried to restart it, the three lights on my keyboard (Num Lock, CAps Lock, Scroll Lock) started blinking. They blink fast (7times) and slow (2 times).

Its for sure a hardware failure. Does anyone know what the code means, does someone in Dell have a reference doc ?

I don't carry around my laptop a lot , it sits in the corner and eats dust. but I still need it. to keep running. and have lots of imp stuff on it... HELP!

I read on the net that usually its the memory modules or the CPU that needs to be re-seated. will try that...
