BLINKING RED LIGHT

Question

Ok, so before I even turned my computer on there was a blinking red light next to the little lightning bolt icon.  It kept blinking after I turned my computer on too.  I have an Inspiron 600m.  What does it mean and how do I fix it? Somebody please help!!!

Most likely a dead battery - remove the battery and boot the system - does the red light go away?
