Blue Screen and errors on hard drive

Hi

I'm writing here because of some errors appearing on my "dell studio 1737". I got it in 2007 and I have never had any problems with hard drive.

From a few months a blue screen, once-twice a day, stops all process and quits unexpectedly the session. Sometimes in the past I saw this kind of error, but often it was caused by a driver, an installation and so on... And it disappeared as it came.

I made a photo to this screen, i'm sorry for its bad quality:

I have done an online "Dell PC Diagnostics" and it has just noticed me this:

Disco rigido: WDC WD3200BEVT-75ZCT2 ATA Device

Test di lettura mirato

 Non Riuscito

 (...)

Autotest breve di SMART

 Non Riuscito

In English it could be:

HARD DRIVE - AIMED LECTURE TEST - FAILED

SHORT SMART AUTOTEST - FAILED

I'm sorry for my imprecise english, I hope that you'll understand me and help me.

Thank you all.

ps: isn't it free a call to the technical support if I am without a guarantee?

Hi

I would suggest you to run Dell diagnostics on the system, to run diagnostics Turn on the system, press at the initial Dell logo screen, and select Diagnostics from the boot menu. In case you get an error message please make a note of that.

Please reply if you have any further questions

Thanks & Regards

You need a new, 2.5" 9.5 mm or slimmer, SATA notebook hard drive.  Yours has failed.
