Boot Problem Inspiron 5160
When I turn on the laptop, it will not proceed from the Dell screen to Windows. The Bios loading bar at the bottom of the screen just keep starting over and over. Hitting F2, F12, etc does nothing - can't get setup, menu, etc. About a week before this, a black vertical bar appeared on the screen. Wondering if the video card fried my motherboard? If so, is it worth replacing the mb? Any advice or suggestions on how to boot the laptop? Thanks.

Remove the hard drive - will the system then let you into BIOS setup (F2 at POST)? If so, the drive is faulty.

I removed the hard drive and the same thing happens. The hard drive was just replaced in August, so it's unlikely to be the problem.
When I press F2 it says "Preparing to Enter Setup" at the top, but when the loading progress bar gets to the end it just starts over again. Thanks.
