Broken hinge

My left cast iron hinge (the one next to the display cable), has broken at the rivet line. Is this a replaceable part? Can't open and close the display anymore and I suspect the cable will go next. It must have been metal fatigue because this is a babied and hot house laptop.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

It is replacable.  What model notebook?  If you are in the US or Canada, call Dell Spare Parts and order for your notebook.

Thanks, John!

It's an inspiron I4K. I'll order the part.

Since the 4100 looks identical to the 4000, I have this hinge kit number:
4100 hinge replacement kit (hinges and covers) part number: 5H119 - $4.95

Let me know if that is right for the 4000 or post the correct number please.  I'd appreciate it.

John, I'm getting back with you.

I didn't find out the part number. As soon as I called the parts people they told me that the computer was still under warranty and had me Am Exp it to them for repairs.

Thanks for the help.

I have the same broken hing problem on a Inspiron 7500.  Can you direct me where I can buy parts or get this fixed?

Thanks
