Built-in bluetooth missing after reformat

I got a Inspiron Mini 1012. It was running under windows 7 starter. The bluetooth was okay. I could connect my devices and everything. But, I had it reformatted and since then, I can't find the bluetooth connection. There were no Bluetooth logo at my icons, no 'Send via Bluetooth' etc. How can I repair this? Please help! Thanks in advance!

Hi Ryuu12

Welcome to Dell Community Forum.

The reason for missing Bluetooth information is could be because of missing drivers after you formatted the system.

I would recommend you to install the required drivers for Bluetooth, you may download the latest drivers from our support website.

Please select the appropriate operating system to find the drivers. Below is the link to get the drivers

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Home/NoDefaultOS

Once you download and install the Intel Wi Max drivers and Dell Appllication For Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module showing under network drivers, please restart the system and check for Bluetooth

ryuu12,

When you reinstalled the operating system, did you install the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Start with the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers and follow the list.

Hi Ryuu12

Thank you for posting back.

Could you please explain on what exactly happens when you look for Bluetooth options. Also what does it show in device manager under network adapters. Please check if Bluetooth is listed under it.

Also please check if  you are able to get online using the wireless connection

Hi PudgyOne

I'm not sure because my friend did all the formatting. But the system and everything else are okay except I cannot find my bluetooth.

Hi Lakshmi

I just cannot find my bluetooth, as if my computer never had one. I can online using wireless.

under Network Adapters, there are only Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport and Realtek RT8102E/RTL8103E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

Hi Ryuu12

Thank you for your response

Please let me know if the Bluetooth application is getting installed sucessfully without any errors.

Please Note: Inspiron 1012 system offers the Dell Wireless 365 2.1 Bluetooth adapter as an optional internal Bluetooth daughter card, so please make sure we are installing the right driver application for Dell Wireless 365 2.1 Bluetooth adapter.

Please check if you see a seperate string in device manager for Bluetooth (Just like Disk drives, Display adapters, Network adapters etc), please check in device manager to see if there are any yellow exclamation mark. If any, it indicates that the drivers are not installed properly, so we may need to install the drivers again.

If the Bluetooth device is installed, also verify, you can turn the wireless and Bluetooth cards on or off with the F2 key.
