C640 Loose Wire?
I have a C640 which is just about 3 years old.
I was considering upgrading my RAM and when I went to investigate the modules first hand I saw that I have a void area down bwloe with a loose wire available. Can anyone tell me what this is?
My specs are below and I dont have any big issues with the machine and I dont feel it warrants replacement but if anyone can shed an opinion on this I would appreciate it.
C640
512MB (2x256MB 226Mhz)
40GB HD
Wireless
CD-RW/DVD

Hi,
The loose wire sounds like the aerial wire. There should be 2, and they are black. They are ready for a wireless net card.

A Dell TruMobile 1150 PCI Card
Is it more internally located perhaps and this wire is for a generic?

Hi,
One of the aerial cables has come off I would suspect. If you look at the card it will have main and aux on it. You should be able to see where one lead goes, the other should be within 20mm approx.
