Cannot connect to router/internet

I just got comcast highspeed internet..i connected my router to the hub and my computer cannects just fine..but my Dell Latitude d150 cant connect. It says that there is limited or no connectivity and the internet may not work..well it doesnt and i have tried many different strategies to fix this problem but still cant..its not a wireless router. and also when i tried to repaire it using the network connection it said that it cant renew my ip address..please i dont know what to do i need help thank you.

Another thing you can try:
You may need to power cycle the modem and router. Try this:
Pull the power on the modem and router. Wait 4 minutes or so. Power the modem. After it powers fully then power the router. When it powers fully then try to connect. If the ip address cannot be found then hit start and select run then type in cmd and hit enter. Type in ipconfig /release and hit enter. Then type in ipconfig /renew and then enter. The ip address should renew. If if does try connecting again. Also make sure your ip address is set to obtain automatically.

It may be that the modem you are using isn't compatible with your OS if you're using Vista. I have Bellsouth/AT&T DSL and called last night after I got my new laptop to set the internet up on it and I learned that my modem wasn't compatible with the OS so they are sending me a new modem. The drivers were installed and the computer recognized the modem but since it wasn't compatible, I couldn't connect to the internet, so you may have to call Comcast and get a Vista compatible modem.

i followed your instrutions but nothing changed... Resetted the hub abd router...the ip address but nothing happened...could there be ohter ways to fix this?
 
After i enter ipconfig/renew it came up with a message
 
AN error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out.
No operation can be performed on wireless Network Connection while it has its media disconnected.
 
that was the message..but my wireless is on and it cant fing a connection but im not trying to use that?? im usin a lan cord.. so if anyone can help please and thank you

Press Fn + F2 and turn off the Wireless card. Then see if it works with the wired connection.
