Windows Boot Manager - Error 0xc000000f
Indicates you tried to Clone an encrypted drive. You cant do this with windows 8.
You also cannot change the boot from secure boot to MBR.
EFI systems require GPT partitions.
Before going any further, please help to confirm the following three points:
1. Does any other error message appear when starting the computer?
2. Did the computer start properly before?
3. Have any changes been made on the computer recently, such as an installation or upgrade?
The issue can be caused by many factors, such as incorrect BCD entries and incompatible hardware or software.
Based on the current situation, I suggest trying the following methods to troubleshoot the issue.
Method 1: Startup Repair from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)
===============================================================
1. Insert the Windows installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.
ISO copies of windows 8 will not boot from burned discs. You will have to make a bootable 16 gig or larger USB Flash drive
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793441
A Windows 8 installation may not start if you use a DVD that was ...
2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD …" appears.
3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next.
6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on Repair your computer.
7. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
8. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Startup Repair.
Can the computer be started now?
If the issue persists, I would like to confirm if System Restore was enabled before.
If so, we can try to restore the system to a state when your computer worked properly in WinRE.
Method 2: Use the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to run System Restore
=======================================================================
1. Instert the Windows installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.
ISO copies of windows 8 will not boot from burned discs. You will have to make a bootable 16 gig or larger USB Flash drive
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793441
A Windows 8 installation may not start if you use a DVD that was ...
2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD …". appears.
3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next
6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on System Restore.
7. Follow the System Restore Wizard instruction as usual and choose the appropriate restore point.
8. Click Finish to restore the system.
Note: The above steps are for Retail Windows but you may use an OEM copy of Windows. The steps to enter WinRE can be a little different. You can boot from the OEM Windows disk, and it will automatically launch the Recovery Environment.
What’s the result?

Hello
Thanks for the information
1. Does any other error message appear when starting the computer?
-It starts fine and works fine - I just can't do a clean reinstall - and this message comes up when I do - whether using Windows 8 to do this or Dell Recovery
2. Did the computer start properly before?
-It starts fine now
3. Have any changes been made on the computer recently, such as an installation or upgrade?
-Yes I have put some software in, and there was a virus. It won't let me do a System Restore.
I was able to boot from the Restore Disk before, but now I never get the message '2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD …" - it never appears.
I can hear the disk moving - but cannot find any way to load the laptop from the disk.
I'll try to make another disk and get back to you.
thanks

We are having very similar issues with our Inspiron 570. The desktop had a virus and Geek Squad recommended either a reset to factory settings and/or replacement of harddrive.
Reset did not fully address the problem. Cannot revert to an earlier image, and we tried repeatedly to repair the system from WinRe. We created a 64 bit recovery disk (on a portable external drive) using Windows 7 on another machine, and tried repeatedly to repair the system as you outline above, and all attempts failed. We then replaced the harddrive and tried a clean install of Windows 8 using a purchased copy of Windows 8 Pro. This last attempt resulted in the error message "Windows Boot Manager - Error 0xc000000f."
Any suggestions welcome.

hi i don´t know if you solve your problem but i just found a solution to this problem in my laptop. you just enter directly in the bios config and where it says boot config you can choose between uefi or efi and legacy option if it havve it, doing this you just restart your laptop with a recovery drive and it works the problem is that the drive that have installed the system has been erased i hope it works for you too
