Cannot view photos using Windows XP
I have an Inspiron 8600 with upgraded video card (ATI Radeon 9600 ProTurbo) I often use the laptop to view photo slides.
For some reason all my photo cd’s are not opening with XP so I can select “view as slide show) They are being recognized by the laptop as “paint shop” files. On my desktop they are JPEGs and XP always gives me the option to view as slideshow. Have tried everything I could think of to change this, but no luck. Is this something Dell had put into my computer to do this? I am thinking of reformatting the C drive and reinstalling XP.
Any ideas?

Don't re-format. Just right click on the picture you want to open and select "open with",
then select "choose program", select "windows picture and fax viewer". Then you can check the boxe that says "always you this program to open this file type. That's it ! Hope this helped.
