well is it installed on to your notebook also? I have the HP color Laserjet also network capable, and is connected to my router, my desktop is also wireless and once I print a document, it can take like 30 minute to a day for it to print. So I decided to take it off and just hard wire it to my desktop (not the internet connection but the printer), not only that even my Dell notebook will not find a printer when I go to Add printer~ It took a while and still couldn't get it to work so I gave up up that~
I installed the identical printer driver on my desktop and notebook.
I determined the "name" of my desktop by right clicking "My Computer"and writing down the NAME of the desktop NOT THE DESCRIPTION.
I also right clicked the printer icon on my desktop and checked sharing. I did the same on my laptop.
On my laptop, I right clicked the printer icon and typed Auto Brother DCP-7020 USB Printer on 3096557-0001 (that is the description of the printer that is hard wired to my desktop).
You desktop must be left on as well as your printer if you want to print from your laptop wirelessly.
You can print from your laptop without turning on your desktop if you buy a
print server and connect it to your printer.
You can have other problems getting your printer to print if you have a personal firewall.
