Certain keyboard keys not working

Having an issue on my Dell Studio XPS 1647 laptop.   The following keys are not working, seems to be like a diagonal row:

n m h j y u 6 7

I uninstalled the keyboard drivers last night and reinstalled and they keys worked for a bit, but now they aren't working again.  Tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling with no change.  Did all bios updates, etc.    Any suggestions?  Should I try a reinstall, or does this look like an issue that might require me to send it in?

If it doesn't work in safe mode, the keyboard needs to be replaced under warranty.  Generally, they'll send you the keyboard - it's a 10-minute job to replace it.

check the ribbon cable under the keyboard ! you will find it has been damaged by the backside of the cpu/gpu frame{it is sharp after being stamped out]  on the mobo and may not be properly folded at that point as well. This is a QC prob @ dell. should have heavy film applied to it as was the fix for mine

Happened twice on my 1645. The first time they swapped out the keyboard and then two months later it happened again and they swapprd out the keyboard and the motherboard.  No trouble since...
