Cleaning notebooks LCD
I have Inspiron600 and use SXGA.
I want to use liquids to clean off my LCD because there are marks on LCD that needs liquids to clean up.
What kind of substance could I use to clean my LCD???
Thank U

A damp cloth is fine but if you do use a cleaner, do not use anything with acetone or ammonia. That would include Windex. I usually use rubbing alcohol and a water mix and that works fine. Here is Dell's kb article on how to clean your LCD.

Hope that helps!

Insert usual disclaimers here - if you dork up your machine, don't come crying to me.
I use spit.
On a cotton t-shirt.
I either spit on the cotton, or dab the cotton on my tongue until I think it's damp enough.
I just rub gently, but thoroughly, to get any residual film off.
I've done this for years, through four or five laptops, and have had absolutely no problem. I carry a cut-off sleeve from an old Gold's Gym t-shirt in my laptop bag, and spit is pretty portable and usually readily available. Best of all, it's free, and you don't have to remember to buy it at any store.
For single-spot cleaning, I wipe my finger clean on my pants, lick my fingertip, and gently rub off the speck. That works, too, residual-free. If you do individual spots as they occur, you only have to do a major spit-shine every once in a great while.
Just be gentle.
HTH.
