Compaq RF Wireless Keyboard/Mouse

Does anyone have any experience installing the Compaq (made my Micro Innovations) RF Wireless Internet Keyboard & Mouse Combo on a Dell Inspiron notebook? I am having a lot of trouble getting the thing to install properly. Just wondering if there is an incompatibility issue.
