computer won't go past dell loading screen

I restarted my computer and now the only thing I can do after the dell loading screen is enter my bios password. After that, I get a black screen with a blinking underscore and it just sits there, and sits there, and sits there and will never go past it. i tried doing the fn+F2, fn+f8, and fn+f12, but the computer is apparently not detecting it. i have to use fn bcause the f# keys are in blue, i tried without using the fn key as well to no avail. it is an inspiron 1545. since i cant get it to boot or get it to go into safe mode, can't get it to boot from disc, what is there left??
