Computrace LoJack for Laptops

Hi All,

I just placed an order for an M1530.  The status is still "in-production". However, I noticed that there's separate item on the order: "Absolute - Computrace LoJack for Laptops 1 Year" which I don't remember selecting or even seeing in the configurator.

I read up about the service and I think it is cool, but what do I actually get?
Do I get the software only, or I actually get a 1 year free subscription?
What does such service cost anyway?

Thanks!

P.S.  why does it take 2 weeks to "produce" this laptop?

LoJack ships separately, and I do believe it comes with a 1 year plan. -S

Lo-Jack is more like an insurance and you can read more about it on their website!

As to the longer length of time for Dell to fill your order, I would venture to say that many of Dell's hi-end computers are custom-tailored for each order, especially if you purchased it online. There are simply so many different configurations, i.e. different CPUs, drives and memories, etc. I could be wrong but since the label on my Dell box said it was made in Malaysia, maybe they actually assembled the unit, after I placed the order, there; so much the better since it's not from China, at this point!

Lo Jack came with my Dell XPS 1530 and had a three years subscription. I've now installed the software, then delete any reference to the software that was downloaded from the laptop.
