Considering a C610 purchase
Hi! I am considering purchasing a Latitude C610 for general use. I will be doing word processing work and internet surfing as well as DVD watching. I would like to know opinions on how this machine works for these purposes. It only has 128mb ram, how high can I upgrade? Thanks for your help.

Excuse me but a i8000, i8100, i8200 , C800, C810 and C840 are based on the exact same case. Same size and basically the same weight. I have both models and I use the C610 much more then my i8xxx model. It is lighter, thinner and much easier to carry around.
The big difference between a C810/i8100 and a C840/i8200 is of course the CPU (P3 and P4 respectively) and that a C810/i8100 does NOT have on motherboard Ethernet. You still need to have a MiniPCI card for Ethernet and IF I rember correctly it also needs a combo MiniPCI card to have both Ethernet and modem. The i8200/C840 has the built in Ethernet and a spot/slot for a modem daugther card. With a C610 the Ethernet card is built in and there is a spot for a modem daughter card leaving the MiniPCI slot empty. Also the C810/i8100 can only have 512MB of RAM where as the C610 can have 1GB of RAM. In my opinion if the OP was looking for a model in the i8xxx/C8xx style a i8200 wouild be a better choice. But he is NOT looking for one of those.

Could anyone tell, which CPU - 478 or 479 pin will work in c610 motherboard?
Regarding geforce2 go - (1G544 1M264 1M265 2K080 4D597 6J800) will ANY of those graphics card work in ANY c610 motherboard or there is a limitation?
Regarding display panel what is part numbers for display panel supporting highest resolution for c610?
Thanks for your help

I Got c610 motherboard, put RAM, cpu, connected to external keyboard and display. After I press power on, light comes on, then nothing happens, CPU fan don't even start spinning and there is nothing on the screen. There is no beeps, lights on LEDs simply go off. I'm trying to figure out, what could be a problem.
Regarding CPU: do you confirm, that BOTH 478 and 479 pin CPUs will work in c610? Will 1.26Ghz CPU work also?
Regarding display panel: Do all of listed display panels support 1450*1024 resolution? Which one is the most reliable (least complains from users).
Also the provided part numbers are for display panel only or display panel + plastics + svga cables?
Thanks for your help.
