Please share the exact system model as there are various variants available under Dell Inspiron 15 series. Also, the password that you have mentioned above is for logging in to windows or is it a BIOS/hard drive password. If possible please share the screenshot of the password screen.
Please reply with the information, I'll be happy to help.
The service tag is <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed as per privacy policy>, which should identify exact system model, I believe. I was not able to use the PrntScr key, but I did take two photos that I will try to include. Photo #1 shows the first screen that asks for my password (with the error message before I typed anything) ... and Picture #2 shows the second screen that sometimes comes up (but not always). I would estimate I see that second screen about 40% of the time
Thank you for sharing the information. I see that you have already contacted the Dell Technical Support team, and they have sent you DUSB key for reinstalling the Windows. Please continue working with them to get the issue resolved, if there is any help you need from my side do let me know. I'll be happy to help.
I see that the system is service and you are able to log into the Windows again. Please share if the issue is resolved or not. If not please share brief description of the issue that you face after re-installing the Windows.
