CPU performance Utilities

Hi all, I'm new to these forums and not sure if this is the right spot to post this. I'm looking for a way to boost the performance of my CPU on a D830. I don't want any power management on the CPU and would simply like the CPU to run wide open at all times when called on, i.e. I don't want an application load to force the CPU to throttle up. In other words, I want this thing to run as if it thinks it's a desktop.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

-Kevin

One possible way is to set "Power Option Properties"' Power Schemes to "Always ON" (or preferably "Home/Office Desk"; this option will run your cpu at max when on AC and on Adaptive when on battery.

In Vista I see you can accomplish max cpu output by adjusting Power Saving to a Custom setting. If you don't have it Google "Intel CPUID" to verify your speed.
