CPU USAGE 100%
I have a Vostro 1500 laptop that just started running terribly slow. I thought i had somehow picked up a virus so i ran all the scans available with no success. The cpu usage is showing 100% all the time even withno applications running. I am out of ideas and was hoping someone might have an idea as to what is going on.

Run the Dell diagnostics to verify the fan operation (f12 at powerup). Check for dust accumulation on the heatsink, which can lead to overheating and slowdowns, and clean accordingly.

Hey- Try the simple thing fisrt bet it works for you. Get your windows updates , then get the driver updates from Dell. common problem from temp files and spyware old drivers. do bios first, then cpu driver . sorry run the dell support center first.
