D600 serial port problem
I have a Latitude D600 with XP sp2. I'm either crazy or I have a problem with my serial port. I use it to connect to routers. It will connect through hyperterm, I can see the router startup, then it just stops showing new data. It doesn't seem to accept input from the keyboard or the device at the other end of the cable.
I have done the following:
Tried same cable and device connected to another machine with identical software load and it works fine.
Updated BIOS to A16.
Verified com 1 is enabled in Bios
verified in Windows that there are now IRQ conflicts
Run the diag utility from the Dell disks and port checks out ok
We have other hardware and software that uses the serial port and it won't talk to any of the other stuff through this serial port either.
Anybody else run into this?
