I don't think you can allocate more memory to the ATI card, you can with the intergrated Intel graphincs 900 upto 128MB, I brought my system with the Intel Graphics 900 and 256MB DDR2 400MHz memory and ordered 2 X 1024GB DDR2 533MHz from my supplier which is Kingston for NZ$650 which is about NZ$1000 saving if I brought directly from Dell, so I should get dual channel, the memory is still on back order and should recieve it this week sometime, but certainlly go for the dual channel, you options are 2X512MB 533MHz or 2X1024MB 533Mhz which should give you dual channel, I don't think the 400MHz memory will give you the dual channel.

Thanks for your reply!

I was going to use memory from my local supplyer anyway as it is a lot cheaper. I take it this wouldn't invalidate the warranty? AFAIK the 400 MHz memory is also Dual Channel, but the price difference is so insignificant when you don't buy at Dell that I might aswell go for the faster one.

I've decided to max out the notebooks memory's capacity which is 2GB so I don't have to worry later on with upgrading
