D810 - Docking station question
I have a Lattitude D810 running XP with service pack 2. I have the docking staion which I am using very successfully. The undocking procedure is pretty simple and works well - but my question is when I want to re- dock do I first have to switch off the computer, or can I just dock it. Or would it maybe be ok to first hibernate the machine before re-docking. At the moment I am powering down every time I want to re-dock, which can be quite a few times a day, and this is a bit of a schlepp, so I am wondering how and if I can avoid doing this.
Thanks:smileyhappy:

At the bottom of my start menu, (D800) it has UnDock as well as Turn Off. D810 may be different.
I always shut down before un-dock and always re-dock in suspend state, just my preference.
Hibernate while docked and unit may be looking for dock on wake, (I don't use hibernate at all).
You may have "Hot Dock" and that may allow doing it without and 'prep' action.
