D820 video problems and projectors

I have an interesting problem. When I plug a project in to my machine, any program that can zoom will zoom in and there is no way to zoom out. This problem also prevents me from typing upper case letters in Internet Explorer. When ever I have advanced a page in my browser and attemp to fill out a form, if I attempt to type an "A" my page goes back a page. It is as if the shift key acts as a back button.

This problem does not happen with an external monitor.
This problem does happen with any projector

I have the NVIDIA Quadro MVS 120M.
I have updated ALL drivers, had the motherboard changed and had tech support attempt to troubleshoot. I have even visited laptopvideo2go.com and still haven't had any luck.

If anyone has any ideas, please chime in!

TIA,
Michael Bruce

I'm not sure what you mean by "any program that can zoom will zoom in".

michaelabruce - We experienced the same problem on a Latitude D610 at work. Do you use a wireless mouse with your D820? If I remember correctly, the only  way we could get the D610 to behave was to disconnect the wireless mouse, and use a wired USB mouse. I'll check with the owner of the D610 next week and see if I've got my facts right.

I have used both wireless and wired mouses as well as using only the touch pad.

michaelabruce - Please see http://www.futurehardware.in/368964.htm

To fix this problem on our D610 we uninstalled Intellitype 5.5 and installed an earler version. Hope this helps.

I had the same beguiling problem on my D610. It caused much heartache during some client presentations. Thank heavens for this forum. It appears that my problem was solved by disabling the zoom option in the IntelliType software and rebooting. Afterwards, all seems well. I plan to test it on several projectors.

Thanks again for the excellent information. Now, I wish MS would get its act together concerning its own products conflicting with each other.
