Hi Xenia92,

What you can do 3 things

1.Clean your fans and use a cooling pad.

2.Set your cpu not on full power.

How to do this? Set your cpu speed to 87%  for my cpu is that ( 1.6GHz= 100%  1.4GHz=87%)

Please use this video link http://bit.ly/UJScUa and follow the steps.

Hi Xenia92,

I would suggest you to update the BIOS on the computer and check if it fixes the overheating issue.

Please enter your service tag # on the link below, then download the BIOS required onto the system and install it.

Please let me know if this helps.

Hi Xenia92,

It appears the system board might have been damaged due to overheating. Even after BIOS if the system overheats and If the issue persists, system board would need replacement.

If the system is under warranty, please private message the service tag and name on account (Click on my name and click Start Conversation). I Will look into the details and inform you about further course of action.

If the system is out of warranty and you are located in US, you may contact OWR on 1800-288-4410.

Please reply if you have any further questions.

It is very hot only above the touchpad and under the laptop in RAM and hard disk.

Unfortunately the system warranty ended in 7/10/2013. Also I don't live in US.

Now, how the overheating problem can be solved?

Maybe, If I install updated CPU or Drivers for OS Deployment or Chipset or something else except BIOS??

Also the BIOS version/details that I had instal is:

Dell Studio 1558 System BIOS, A12
R301434.exe  |  Hard-Drive  (6 MB)
BIOS |
Release date 4/8/2011
| Last Updated 11/3/2011
|Recommended
Version A12

I think that now is more hot than before I install the updated version of BIOS.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Xenia92,

Since the BIOS driver updated already and you are still facing the issue. BIOS driver should have fixed the issue but since the issue persists even after the update. I suspect it’s an Fan and heat sink which is faulty. I would suggest you to contact Dell out of warranty team.

Let me know your region. We will further assist with options.

Also I don't know how important is the situation of the hard disk. However, in my laptop the hard disk is 500 GB and has 30 bad sectors (47° C / 117° F).
