Dell 6400 Shocking

Hello, I remember a while ago about people complaining about Dell laptops shocking people.  I don't know if I am having the same problem, Ive had this laptop for about 1.5 years but recently I've been getting a lot of static / shocking from it.  Any ideas?

Are you getting static shocks from other things or only from the lap top? I get static shocks from various things depending on the weather and especially how dry it is. Some times I get quite a shock every time I touch the door handle on my car. So I think a first question is whether what you are experiencing is different than a static shock from touching something else. I hadn't heard of there being a problem with Dell laptops causing shocks, and have not experienced it but then I haven't been reading the user forums very often--usually just when I have a concern.
