Dell 7520 HDMI problem
Hi
I just bought Dell 15SE 7520. It has 2 GB Radeon 7730M graphics card with intel HD 4000. Problem is that my laptop is not connecting with my samsung d450 TV. Whenever i connect the hdmi cable my TV detects 'some' device but says 'check source'.
Is there any configuration required for hdmi connection or is it just plug n play. I have tried connecting it with monitor with hdmi inpu but still no response.
Any help guys.

Hi zohaib_225,
You would need to select the input source as HDMI in the TV settings. For more information on this, you can refer to the user manual of the TV from the link: http://bit.ly/UT5j07
Copy and paste the above link in the address bar of browser and hit Enter.
Once you select the input source, you would need to set the display. If you are using Windows 7, you can press Windows button on keyboard and P to switch the display. If you are using Windows 8, Press Fn and F1 to display the image on the television.
Please reply for further clarifications.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have selected hdmi from the TV menu and it shows hdmi in 'connected devices' but when i select it it says 'check source' even when i select it. I thought my cable is faulty but i have tried new cable and still its not connecting. Laptop changes resolution when i select Fn and F1 but nothing on TV.
This hdmi port is connected to HD 7730 right.

Hi zohaib_225,
I am replying on behalf of DELL-Chinmay S. I would recommend you to check with an alternate display if the same issue persists. You can switch between the laptop screen and the television screen by pressing and holding the 'Windows' key and press 'P' key. Please refer to the manual for your television http://bit.ly/UT5j07
Hope this helps.

Hi I have the same problem... And not solved yet...
A tip that could start the solution is to install the catalyst driver (in my case W8_A02 - the last revision for windows 8) from Dell website... Install it with the HDMI cable connected (laptop to TV). After the end of the driver instalation, HDMI starts working, but a windows restart is required... and after the restart the HDMI stops working again... Its annoying but its a start for understanding this issue...
Did you have anothe tip!?

Welcome to the club....
I have exactly the same problem.
I'm trying to solve this the last 40 days...
And DELL still quiet...
Like there is no problem...
It's a shame...

Hi guys,
After 2 months DELL solved the Inspiron 7520 HDMI problem (doesn't work)...
They changed the mother board and now all is ok...
So, the problem that HDMI didn't work is a hardware problem...
If anybody has the same problem I recomend to insist with DELL to substitute the motherboard...

If it truly is a hardware issue, I'd really expect Dell to take the initiative to contact people - especially those of us who have posted in the forums - to arrange a swap. If I have to spend my time chasing after them and having to pitch a fit to have this issue resolved, I won't be too happy. If it is a hw issue, it's a totally simple thing for them to swap in new hardware and keep customers satisfied.

Yes, its a hardware problem...
I just substitute the mother board... Nothing more.... And all is OK....
Dell knows about the problem, but she do herself dead....
I think there is a mother board series with problem.... But why to change all if some customer don't insist?
Bad....
