Dell Battery Blinking

Question

I have a Dell battery that is about a year old.   It is a Type: 66whr  Rating:14.8v = 4460mAh.   When the battery is in the PC the battery light just blinks amber.  When you remove the battery and press the test button,  the first, middle and end lights blink.  Any ideas??   Thanks, Fisherman

The battery is dead.  After a year or so, batteries lose their ability to hold a charge.. until manufacturers allow you to recondition the batteries, your only option is replacement.  That's what you need.  The battery is telling you its going bad.  Swap it, and you are good for another year.  Make sure you buy a NEW battery not a REFURBISHED.

I bought a new battery and it works fine holds a good charge for hours but the amber light still blinks.

Opps I guess I didnt give it enough time. after i rebooted a couple of times the amber light went away.
