Dell D420 with dual graphics monitors in D/Dock

I am thinking of getting a D/Dock for my D420 and connecting up two monitors.  What is the maximum resolution that the D420 will support in this mode?

And has anybody actually got a PCI graphics card working in the D/Dock to support multiple monitors?

Thanks

Using the internal video driver I was getting 1280x1024 on two 19" ultrasharps.  Right now I am running a single samsung at 1680x1050.  I doubt it will go any higher than that (although I havent actually tried 1080p).

This isnt through the d/dock but through the media base, which does nothing more than add the DVI output.

People have steered me away from using the d/dock for an external video card.  Apparently it will only support a PCI card up to 100watts or so of power (i.e. not needing an aux power source).  I shopped for a bit but didnt find anything worthwhile with those specs.

If you do it and find something satisfactory let me know, it would be nice to get since they are cheap on ebay and might give me the ability to do some more graphics intensive things.

Thanks that's helpful.

There have been some posts on here about using an ATI FireMV 2200 PCI card with the D/Dock - with mixed results as far as I can make out.

However, I also found this http://www.notebookforums.com/thread151106.html off forum which indicates that it might be possible (albeit with a different laptop)
