Dell Datasafe local backup problems....
I know that this issue has been addressed several times on various forums, but have not found an answer for my problem. I just got my Inspiron 5520 today and have tried 5 times to create recovery disks. Each time the process is halted at the verifying disk step. I have tried restarting my computer, but that has no effect. I have lost 5 DVDs to this futile process. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
Sandra

Hi Sandra,
It can be annoying when any technical task becomes repetitive. Here is how we can rectify this.
Please follow the below steps which would help you in creating recovery disks:
1. Click “Start” then click All Programs click “Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0”’ and click Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0.
2. Click “Create your Recovery Discs”.
3. Click Create My Recovery Disc(s) Now then click NEXT
4. Insert a blank DVD in the DVD burner, click “Next” and follow the prompts provided as the Recovery Disc creation takes place.
5. After the disc(s) have been created, click Finish”’’
For more information refer the below given link:

Note: Any other branded DVD other than Memorex can be used.
Please revert for clarification

I have done exactly what you suggested 5 times and created 5 useless disks. The data safe program gets to the last step in the creation of the FIRST disk and then stops saying that the process has been cancelled or that there was an error with creating the disk.

Hey Sandra,
It seems that the data safe local prog is corrupt or not installed properly on the factory image..you can try uninstalling the program first from control panel > program and Features>restart your computer.
Once the computer comes back on reinstall the program from the following link:
dslbchecker.datasafelocalbackup.com/dslchecker-en.html
In case the above step does not work,I would recommend you to use a 8 GB pen drive.
Hope this helps!!!

Hi Sandra,
As rocking star correctly said, it can be an issue with the corrupted Dell Data safe local back up.
I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the Dell Data safe local back up.
If the issue still persists and if the computer has an active warranty, please private message the system service tag, contact number and registered owner’s name.

Awaiting the information from you!
