Dell E6430 screen resolution upgrade
Attempting to install 1600x900 screen and getting wrong colors and bad resolution. I understand the cable may need replacement. Can anyone provide me with the upgrade cable part number? Thanks in advance.

yes, the new style cable allowed the new screen to work properly

Did this end up working for you? I'm on the verge of buying the same cable and a 1600 screen to put into my E6430, but would love to hear from at least one person that it's doable.
Dell chat tech support wouldn't give me anything definitive, while I got passed around on the phone forever, until one girl said that it should work, the card supports up to '1600x1900'.
Would be nice to find one person who's actually done it, though

How hard was the install? Just removing the main bottom cover and the LCD bezel, no?
