Dell INTERNAL Bluetooth 355...

I'm going to be doing a clean install of my E1705 in a few weeks and I wanted to know if someone could point out to me which driver/software package I need to reinstall the BT card?  For some reason I've always had a problem knowing which to install for the card.   Microsoft update is always updating the software, then Dell always updates out, I never know which to use and the software that comes from Dell, seems to be very 'heavy', meaning it takes FOREVER to install and installs all these extra 'things', which I have no idea what they are.

I thought about just pulling the card out period (as I don't use it) but then I figured it might be best to keep it in, I might need to use it someday.

Thanks for any help.

Sseadoubleyou,

The BT 355 driver for the E1705 can be found here. There are also 2 patches available for it, the first, which is a utility to enable Bluetooth radio after downgrade from Vista to XP if the radio is software disabled on Vista is here. The second, which is a patch that resolves a Bluetooth headset issue under Windows 2000 OS and a USB 1.1 configuration as well as an issue with large L2CAP echo requests is here. If you don't need the patches, just install the driver and you should be good to go.

Mike.
