Dell Latitude D620 Boot problem
I HAVE A DELL LATITUDE D620 WHEN BOOTING SAYS THIS COMPUTER SYSTEM, #5ZLY6C1-595B IS PROTECTED BY A PASSWORD AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM. YOU CANNOT ACCESS THE DATA ON THIS COMPUTER WITHOUT THE CORRECT PASSWORD. PLEASE TYPE IN THE SYSTEM OR ADMINISTATOR PASSWORD AND PRESS ENTER. IS THIS LOCKED BIOS OR HARD DRIVE? PLEASE HELP THANK YOU.

try this.....remove battery and ac power and then remove cmos battery...this will restore bios to factory default. when you boot up up, system time and date need to be set. if you haven't set a password on bios then this might work...be very carfeful removing cmos battery good luck

I really don't know what is CMOS ? I searched google and there was explained as a small round button but it is attached to the motherboard nd I can't open it

Hi meenuji,
Reseating the CMOS battery may not help in clearing the BIOS password. Please send me the requested information in a Private Message to check what best can be done.
