dell latitude e6500 problem at windows startup
Hello! I have a problem when windows starts up. The windows logo shows(when booting), then the laptop displays a black screen that lasts for 36-37 seconds. I kept having this problem for 4-5 months, when i was running windows 7. I upgraded to windows 8 abut 3 weeks ago and the problem dissappeared, but it reappeared a week ago. I will attach a video file, ntbtlog and dxdiag info.
video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKOMcPfDgsw
ntbtlog: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u09ugc9jcax9ppm/ntbtlog.txt
dxdiag info: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lmv3jeemo4lxkjq/DxDiag.txt
I hope you can help me, guys!
Thanks.

Hi lyoddxd,
Have you checked if there is any difference in the boot time if you:

Taking in account the upgrade path you performed ( Win 7 - Win 8 ) I'd have to assume you're experiencing a problem with the machine picking up the MBR then loading the appropriate graphics driver. The quick fix is to honestly back it up and perform a fresh install of 8 ( if that's what you want to continue to use ) otherwise you can try updating the Bios, and upgrade the graphics card via the manufactures website ( don't bother using the "most up to date" drivers found on the dell product support page ). That along with a defrag and a check disk to make sure it just inst the hard drive a clean install would probably save you the most time and provide the most accurate information as to whats really happening with the unit - W&S

1. I don't know what MBR means, but i assume you are right
2. When i performed the update from w7 to w8, i did a clean install and transferred some of my backed up files back to the computer
3. i have bios revision A29 (the latest) - i started having this problem since bios revision A27 (but after months of using this revision, not since i installed it)
4. i have all the drivers up to date - but i consider this is not the problem because when i first installed windows 8 and the drivers, i had no such problem - the computer booted in maximum 15 seconds
5. i tried defragmentation and it didn't help.. Also, the computer crashed three days ago and when i tried to turn on the computer, there was a text under the windows 8 logo that said checking disk or something like that, but the problem was already there and checkdisk didn't help

Yes. There is a 30 seconds difference between the restart and the shut down followed by power up.
restart time (measured after the bios finished ) : 28 seconds
suht down followed by pressing power up button (measured after bios finished booting) :61 seconds

Thank you for clarifying those variables. At the risk of listing additional steps you might have already taken have you performed the boot to diagnostic ( full test ) to rule-out possible hardware related problems? Sounds like your drive is functional but might have a few bad sectors, which wouldn't be detectable without a full HD test ( est shorts etc.. ). The E6500's have always been buggy ( hence the 29 bios revisions since its release ). I had instability issues with 8, went back to 7 x64 Pro, wasn't worth the depleted resources is was benchmarking compared to 7.
