Dell Studio Power Light Blinking
I have a Dell Studio 1737 laptop that doesn't boot. When pressing the power button, the lights on the keyboard light up from right to left and then left to right (which is normal), the screen flickers for a second, then the screen goes off and the power light blinks white.
I tried removing the battery and trying just AC power.
I tried removing the battery and pushing the power button for a minute to discharge the power.
I tried removing the hard drive, to be sure it wasn't hibernating.
I tried removing the RAM.
I tried removing the CMOS battery.
In all cases the same thing happens- keyboard lights come on, then a flicker, then the screen goes black and the power light blinks.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi Gtcurtis,
Welcome to the Community. According to the Setup guide of this computer, the power button blinking white means its in sleep mode, but you have removed the hard drive as well, so its tricky situation. I need to know what LED's light up on the volume button?
Eg:
Thank you

Royan,
Thanks for the help. The lights on the volume bar flash from right to left, then left to right but none of them blink and flash. The power button itself, on the side of the laptop, blinks.

Hi Gtcurtis,
It looks a component on the motherboard is faulty. So we are looking at a motherboard failure. I suggest you call Dell Technical support in your region for a replacement.
Thank you
