Desktop PC Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller, missing driver

Question

I don't know for sure that a desktop uses this driver because when I searched with a search, engine only Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller drivers for laptops came up. It is listed in the Device Manager, Other devices, as not installed.

The Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller, driver is not installed I looked for it in Windows Updates but couldn't find this driver, also looked in Dell Drivers and Downloads and couldn't find it.

My Remove hardware safely icon is missing because the driver in not installed. Can anyone give me a link for my Dell XPS 8500 desktop PC using Windows 7?

Thanks for the post. Sounds like you are missing a driver from the chipset family. This will differ depending on the exact set up of your system but the drivers below are for an XPS 8500 Windows 7 – 64Bit installation.

Intel Chipset Driver
