Device Notification function in new IDT driver is not working.

Dell's newer IDT drivers are not popping up device notification when audio jack is plugged in though pop up settings is turned on in IDT control panel.

this function used to work on the older versions... I have seen that.

I'm running on WIN8 PRO on DELL 17R SE.

anybody having same issue or any solution???

Is that the IDT driver dated 2-8-13?

If it is buggy I would roll back to the previous version.

The new Feb 8 2013 IDT Driver Seems to be working AOK on my 17r SE 7720,

I only get the Popup when I plug something into the Mic/Line In jack.

The Headset Jack never popped, but then again it only needs to know if it's a Mic or a Device using Line in.
A headset is a headset.

Hi CyberMaxX360,

I was talking about the headset jack. I never tried the input port. you have also mentioned that headset popup is not showing.

There are some settings in wavemaxx audio which is only enabled if output is a speaker and some other settings which is only enabled for headsets.

However I uesd to use the older driver (most probably A01) which had this notification function working corectly.

Ahhh OK I don't recall mine ever popping up for headsets, not sure what driver my unit shipped with though.  Google is my friend time to do some research I guess.

What where the choices for when you plugged something in to the Headset port?

I see why the other prompts for Mic or Line In.

Cheers

Jim,

yes its 2-8-13 release. I think this is just a repack of the previous one.

I have noticed this problem on the previous release (just before 2-8-13 ) also. this function used to work on the very 1st driver whcih was for windows 7.

Just a few general observations about the jacks on the 17R SE model. According to my notes there are 2 jacks, a mic jack and a headset (combo) jack.

> The mic jack can be configured for either mic input or stereo line-in, and there should be a pop-up to select between which configuration.

The combo jack is an odd one. It can be used as a regular headphone output jack, or it can be be used as a Smartphone type headset jack, the type where both a mic and a headphones terminate in a single 4 segmented plug.

> When using the combo jack with a smartphone headset it outputs to the headphones of the headset and accepts the input from the mono mic of the headset. Combo jacks cannot be re-configured to be a stereo line-in jack, so there should be no popup to select the input configuration.

> When using it as just a headphone jack, I wouldn't expect to see a popup, but if the original Win 7 IDT driver had that function and it is important to have then maybe that driver can be installed into 8 in compatibility mode. This is the oldest one I can find: 6.10.0.6388, A00
