> First try Windows System Restore (type system restore into the search box). Pick a restore point from before the audio quit.
> If that does not fix it, reinstall the Sigmatel audio driver. Go to the E1505 downloads page. Select your operating system -- only choices are Windows XP or Vista. If you have another OS let me know.
Then expand the Audio category and get the Sigmatel audio driver. Do not get the Creative Labs software that is there because it can mess up your Windows Registry if it is installed before the Sigmatel driver.
Install it and reboot and see if that fixes it. I am not sure what you mean by the mixer program. Was it named sndvol32? If you have Windows XP that should be in C:\I386 and C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32. Go to Start/Search and type in sndvol32.exe and click ok. If you don't see it listed in the System32 folder you will have to put it there.
The easiest way is to copy the SNDVOL32.EXE file from another computer from its System32 folder and paste it into your System32 folder.
