WUXGA has much higher resolution, 1920x1200, whereas XGA is only capable of 1280x800.

Thanks.  Guess I'll splurge the extra $150.  Isn't this the screen that I'd have to change the font size?  (already saved info on that)

You can change fonts on any screens with any resolutions. Higher resolution just allows you to see more content.

For a 17" screen, I would recommend the wide UXGA which gives you 1920x1200 resolution. You will be able to more content and if you think the fonts in 1920x1200 is too small, you can always adjust down, or set it to a lower res. I have WUXGA on my 15.4 and I can never go back to 1280x900.

Wait, I just confused myself - should I get the first one or the second (glossy)?  which is the higher resolution?

Is that the second (glossy) one?
