Replace the hard drive first - then reload the OS from your recovery media. You'll need a new, 2.5' 9.5 mm or slimmer SATA notebook HDD, SSHD or SSD.

It would be a good idea to run the full Dell diagnostics -- F12 at powerup.

Go with any of the WD Black 2.5' drives.

I Got it. Black if we use Video's, streaming mostly otherwise Blue is fine. Plus Extra Warranty
